What is lorem ipsum?
Placeholder text. Designers use it to fill a layout before the real words are written, so the design can be judged on its own. The classic version is scrambled Latin from Cicero.
Why use themed filler instead?
Because it reads like the real thing. A wedding photographer's site filled with talk of first looks and golden hour shows a client how the finished page will feel, without anyone mistaking it for final copy.
